The Renaissance was a mostly cultural period that spanned the 14th to 17th centuries, included the Elizabethan and Tudor periods, and began in Italy.

The Medieval Era
(5th century to 15th century); a period that lasted from the 400’s to the 1400’s, spanning a thousand years. A period of enormous scholarly, artistic, and governmental growth. The Early Middle Ages, or Dark Ages, are from the mid 450’s to 1000, the High Middle Ages lasted from 1000 to 1300, and the Late Middle Ages saw the end.
