A still of Anne Hathaway as Jane Austen in the 2007 film “Becoming Jane”.
-not my favorite film, but a beautiful shot nonetheless.

This is Chatsworth House, the home of the Cavendish family, Dukes of Devonshire. It is in the north of Derbyshire and was built in 1553, with most of the main structure being built in 1687 and 1707, and additional structures in the 19th and 20th centuries. Throughout the years, many famous guests have stayed here; Mary, Queen of Scots was kept here during her captivity; Princess Victoria and her mother, the Duchess of Kent, visited, and then Victoria visited again later, once she was Queen and married to Prince Albert. The gardens are particularly famous, and were voted to contain the best water feature in England. Total, it sits on about 35,000 acres, or 140 square kilometers. More recently, it has been the site of filming for Mr. Darcy’s home in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice, and the film the Duchess, both with Keira Knightley as the lead.
